Since 1947, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has been a focal Ministry of the Government of Pakistan for all projection-related activities and serves as a bridge between the Government, media, and the people. It is also entrusted with the responsibility to provide policy guidelines to the state’s electronic media. The Ministry extends professional support to Ministries and Federal Government Organizations for the effective projection of the policies and programs of the Government both at home and abroad. The Ministry is also responsible for formulating and implementing policies, laws, rules, and regulatory frameworks concerning the print and electronic media and news agencies. It also promotes and projects Pakistan’s soft, progressive, and democratic image within and outside the country.
